We are starting a group for those interested in crafting a personal rule of life. A rule of life is basically a set of practices you do throughout your week each week to help you grow spiritually and be in more regular communion with God. Different practices work for different people, but everybody will benefit from greater consistency and intentionality.
Rules of life are common among monastic communities and other religious orders, but a growing number of lay Christians have been formulating and seeking to live out rules of life that fit with the realities of their lives.
The group will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings, and run for 12 weeks. We’ll be using a recent book by Stephen Macchia called “Crafting a Rule of Life: An Invitation to the Well-Ordered Way.” The book is broken into 12 studies, and is designed to guide you in coming up with your own personal rule of life, as well as to find ways to weave our personal rules together where it makes sense so that we can enhance our common spiritual life.
