Face to Face

by James Witwicki

Inspired by Moses’ encounters with God and by John 4:23

A time is coming and

Now is, when we’ll worship

In this place in spirit

And in truth.  We’ll boldly

Approach the throne of grace

To meet God, face to face.

“Abba, Father,” we all

Cry, “lift your children up

On high!”  Mercy, kindness,

Joy and grace will be ours

As we greet you, face to face.

As your children, as your

Friends we’ll enter a kingdom

Without end, reconcile

And make amends for our

Trespasses and mistakes

When we meet you, face to face.

“Abba, Father,” we all

Cry, “lift your children up

On high!”  Mercy, kindness,

Joy and grace will be ours

As we greet you, face to face.

We recall the days and

Times when we could not find

You, as if we were blind.

Then Jesus’ spirit brought

Us to a different place

Opening a new way

To reveal your face.

Mercy, Joy, Forgiveness, Grace

Entering a holy place

We met you face to face.

Mercy, Joy, Forgiveness, Grace

Entering a holy place

We met you face to face.

“Abba, Father,” we all

Cry, “lift your children up

On high!” Mercy, kindness,

Joy and grace will be ours

When we greet you, face to face.
